Challenges of Virtual Education during the COVID-19 Pandemic: Experiences of Mexican University Professors and Students

Students’ and university professors’ challenges due to the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic have been enormous. Without prior notice, they had switch from traditional education virtual teaching. This study’s objective was identify perception of students professors Bachelor in English Language University Chihuahua, Mexico, during transition classes pandemic. Researchers applied a survey 28 items with Likert scale 152 spring semester 2020 second instrument 51 26 professors. The reported having complications connectivity (21%) difficulties interacting classmates (34%). Many experiencing anxiety (69.1%) feeling isolated (62.5%). Most agree that learn better face-to-face (85%). In turn, lower performance than (69.3%). Despite this, affirm followed program letter (92.3%) completed programmed contents (84.6%). Besides, 92.3% academics are confident face new modality, if necessary. Although we can say institution successful, encountered disadvantages use platforms for online classes. benefit this research´s findings is understanding must all necessary elements place It establish formal regulation programs includes professor´s student´s profile, as well strategies be followed. students’ perceptions highlight crucial need consider teach take advantage these lessons future better.
